Paper Bandit Press was founded by husband and wife team, Kim and Brett Borup.
Each of their children have collected a shoebox of valentines carefully written by Brett. He has never missed a year. They can also recognize Kim’s beautifully hand addressed envelopes from the tiniest glimpse in the mailbox. She has never missed a birthday.
They raised a family that values handwritten correspondence (their daughter, Stephanie Ford, says they are a large part of why she became a stationery designer) so it seemed a natural fit when they founded Paper Bandit Press.
We print on two vintage letterpresses, a Vandercook proof press and a Heidelberg windmill platen press. We cut paper by hand using an old 26″ Chandler & Price paper cutter. We love the character of these wonderful old machines.
We are environmentally friendly. We recycle or reuse the packing our materials are shipped in and we print on sustainable cotton paper. Much of our equipment is hand powered. We have energy efficient LED light fixtures in our studio. Even our envelopes contain at least 30% post consumer waste.
Each month we feature a collection of cards and prints from a different guest designer. Sign up for our monthly newsletter where we reveal our latest collaborations. We can’t wait for you to see what’s in store.
Here’s a video about our company and process:
